Entry Requirements

USI (Unique Student Identifier) Number; AQF level 4 foundation skills are essential; there are no prerequisites or mandatory entry requirements, allowing flexible entry points.


Overview This qualification addresses work in residential group homes, training resource centres, day respite centres and open employment services, other community settings and clients’ homes. These workers:
  • Apply knowledge and skills gained through qualifications and /or previous experience to provide training and support to   people with disabilities to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance and community      participation.
  • Report to service managers and may liaise with health professionals and other service agencies
  • May work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of lower    classified workers.
Course Entry Requirements 
  • Completion of Year 10  OR
  • Mature age entry applicable
  • L : Reading and writing skills
  • L : Oral communication skills
  • N : Numeracy and mathematics skills

Work Placement Minimum of 180 hours’ work placement within a community service facility is compulsory for this qualification.Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check will be required.Work Experience Insurance will be provided by REACH for Training. Upon completion of this qualification learner(s) may proceed to CHC60108 -Advanced Diploma of Disability Work.
